Having just come off a tour of the Southeast opening for Witzend favorite, Keaton Simons, North Carolina's The Jason Adamo Band is an honest, unpretentious, tight and full-bodied 6-piece.  Their latest album, Bricks & Mortar(recently nominated for a LA Music Critic Award for Best EP) recorded at K House Recording Studio in Raleigh, NC and produced by the band’s own John Briggs, follows their 2010 full-length Transistor. Just as The Beatles weren’t only pop, blues or psychedelic, The Jason Adamo Band borrows from many genres to create something new and original. “Sure, this record has an alt-country vibe to it, but there are elements of rock, soul, Motown, and the 20s and 30s,” says Briggs.

The EP’s opening track and first single, “Foundation,” speaks of a troubled relationship in dire need of a stronger foundation, a theme that is woven throughout the entire EP and appropriately gives way to the title Bricks & Mortar. For Adamo, this song hits home the deepest. “While writing this song my marriage was going through a bit of a rough patch,” says Adamo. “In writing this, I realized what I wanted to come of my marriage; I wanted it to survive.”

Recently, the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes renamed their stadium the PNC Arena (formerly RBC Center) and selected “Foundation” to help promote the celebration of the renaming. This honorable selection follows the NHL team’s regular use of the JAB’s song “Raleigh Nights” as one of their official songs, played at every home game.
