Twin Oaks

Spending their early years as a softly-sung bedroom folk duo, Twin Oaks was founded by vocalist Lauren Brown and multi-instrumentalist Aaron Domingo during the summer of 2011 when Domingo presented a batch of scratch acoustic songs to Brown to which she would assist as backing vocalist. However, the roles switched when Brown's vocals and melodies suited a much better fit for the songs. The duo continued writing and recording demos in Brown's apartment just outside of Los Angeles that eventually led to the band's first self-released and home-produced EP titled Not An Exit in November 2012. The EP's title track quickly found its audience through UK-based independent music blog GoldFlakePaint and Amazing Radio.

Twin Oaks quickly began writing and recording new songs in Domingo's home studio with intentions to fill a set list for the band's first group of shows. Domingo brought in multi-instrumentalist Louis Bernal to assist in the production of what would become their next self- produced mini album release titled The Lion's Den. The songs took on a much darker tone, incorporating more focus on electric guitars, synths, and drum sequencers to aid in Brown's airy vocals. The Lion's Den was released on January 2014 and was mixed & mastered by Joshua Simmons in Los Angeles. The album found it's way in The Deli Magazine's Arist To Watch list, received airplay on local college radio stations, numerous indie blog top 2014 lists, and had their single 'Find A Way' land at #1 on the Amazing Radio Chart.

Bernal later joined as a full-time guitarist/multi instrumentalist. The band began playing shows and demoing new material throughout the Spring of 2014. Twin Oaks has shared the stage with local Los Angeles favorites AKW, Wartime Recitals, Those Folk, Their Wedding, Sad Robot, Emma Ruth Rundle (Marriages), Archer Black, and Bear On Fire.

In Summer 2014, the band hired Joe Longobardi (Defeater, Dreamtigers) to assist on drums and began their first recording sessions at Jim Henson Studios in Hollywood, CA with co-producer Joshua Simmons for the debut full-length album titled "White Noise". The album would be Twin Oak's debut effort as a full 4-piece band, swapping hushed acoustics for grander atmospheres. The first taste of the Henson Studio session 'Animal' was releasedin December 2014 displaying the band's focus on Longobardi's percussions,  Domingo and Bernal's melodic guitar work, and Brown's dynamically ranged vocals.

Entering 2015, the band introduced Rhyan Riasgo as a full-time drummer and continued recording sessions at Frequency Factory and Domingo's home studio outside of Los Angeles. Riasgo assisted in backing vocals and multi-instrumental work throughout the later recording sessions. The album's first single "Ghosts" was introduced in May 2015 which would showcase the band's further use of electronics, ambient atmospheres, and layered instrumentation throughout the album.

"White Noise" released on October 23, 2015.
