A Native of the small town of Gastonia North Carolina, I have been performing since I could walk or talk. I’m the youngest of 4 children…the youngest NOT the baby and began singing in church as part of a very musical family. By the age of nine I had terrorize my family enough by singing the entire cast recording of “Annie” every afternoon and soon found myself onstage in “Shenandoah” at The Little Theater of Gastonia thanks to Debbie Rhyne and George Gray, beginning a long and loving relationship with theater that has lasted 30 years and is still going strong. I performed throughout my childhood and adolescence, with the guidance of people who will always be dear to me although some of you may not know their names or ever meet them… George Gray, Andrew Millard, Mark Hyde, Rebecca Rhyne, Debbie Rhyne and Trip McGill. I am the artist I am today, in large part, due to these people. After Graduating from high school, I was awarded a scholarship, talent based of course, to The North Carolina School of the Arts. While studying Music with a focus on Vocal Performance,, I had the privilege and great fortune to study with Frederick Moses, Phyllis Tektonidis and Glenn Seibert who taught, not only, technique but the artistry of good musicianship and self preservation. During my experience at NCSA, I was also lucky enough to study with Victoria Bussert, David Craig, Gerald Freedman, Matilda Nichol and Melissa Hayden. Oh, our mascot in high school was a greenwave and in college…a PICKLE! Just saying Two days after graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Music, I began work on the 2nd National tour of “Once On This Island” and with only a few minor surgeries have worked consistently over the years. I have been lucky enough to work with the Great White Way’s brightest and best performers including… Chita Rivera, Bryan Stokes Mitchell, Jane Krakowski, Karen Ziemba, Blythe Danner, Judith Ivey, Marin Mazzie, Sutton Foster, and Robert Goulet. The list of Directors, Choreographers and Musical Directors he has had the great fortune to work with include the likes of Michael Blakemore, Kathleen Marshall, Rob Marshall, Rob Ashford, Casey Nicolaw, Matthew Warchus, Jerry Zaks, Ann Reinking, Jerry Mitchell and Sir Richard Eyre. I love performing and always will. This year I start a new chapter…directing and producing, after being in this business as long as I have… who knows better than I do how to put on a show… a GOOD one!
