The ENYZMES were formed by Rob Lewine and Murphy Dunne in 2007. Several years later, joined by Phylliss Bailey Brooks and Roxanne Mayweather, the band became the Enzymes with the Active Ingredients. The group plays originals and also tunes from rock and r&b's legendary past. MURPHY DUNNE (keyboards) was in SECOND CITY and has appeared in BLUES BROTHERS 1 and 2, in which he played Murph, leader of Murph and the Magic Tones. ROB LEWINE (bass) was in the ILLINOIS SPEED PRESS (Columbia Records), SONG (MGM Records), BLUES IMAGE, and early versions of the GRASS ROOTS and LITTLE FEAT. LARRY TREADWELL (guitar/music director) has played guitar for THOMAS DOLBY, CYNDI LAUPER, THE POINTER SISTERS, EARTH WIND AND FIRE, THE ROLLING STONES and ANGELA BOWIE. HOWARD GREENE (drums) has performed with the Knack’s DOUG FIEGER, rockabilly pioneer RAY CAMPI, saxophonist BIG JAY MCNEELY, recording artist SKIP HELLER, Tony award winner STEW, and former Dave Brubeck bassist EUGENE WRIGHT. ROXANNE MAYWEATHER (vocals) has sung with many artists including the legendary Anita O’Day, Dreamgirl Jennifer Holiday and the Peter Duchin Orchestra, PHYLLISS BAILEY BROOKS (vocals) is a singer, actress, vocal director/arranger and performance coach, and has toured the world from Paris to Bangkok.
