Pat Reedy

When a young Pat Reedy (singer-songwriter in The Longtime Goners) hitchhiked from his native Illinois to New Orleans “as soon as he could,” he was given a broken guitar by a stranger. He fixed it up and learned to play and sing for tips on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter. He knew some old songs but soon began writing his own- “You get tired of playing the same three songs, you will learn others fast and I will guarantee you have material for some of your own.” He's spent most of his life on the road working odd jobs and playing music. His songs are raw, stripped-down country sung straight from the heart, timeless and original. “I guess [my songs] come from travel, work, women, love, hate, all that. Hard times and good ones both.” Pat now has several solo recordings and an impressive collection of original works. When not on tour with The Longtime Goners, Pat spends his time working and booking solo gigs and tries his best to live in New Orleans, Louisiana with his dog Boo, a large, dangerous, black half-Netherlander, half-wolf beast. -- Luke Bell
