AmA (pronounced AH-ma) is the Latin root word for love, and is also the name for songstress Amanda Bauman's indie electronica pop project. Based out of Los Angeles, AmA's first album Electric Life was co-written with producer Patrick Doyle, and was released in 2011 on I-tunes, Reverbnation and Soundcloud. Soon thereafter, the edgy synth driven song Dispatch, was licensed to be the theme song for the gangster parody, Bullet in the Face which debuted on the IFC channel in August of 2012. AmA's second release Alchemy, is a five song EP, and made its debut in May 2013. In the meantime you can find her dreamy vocals on the album called Woman in Dub. She will be featured alongside the reggae legend Marcia Griffiths, pop diva Caron Wheeler of Soul to Soul, and many other outstanding female vocalists. She has performed at Coachella 2013 along reggae legend Lee Scratch Perry and recently went on tour in the fall of 2013 with the ladies from Woman in Dub. Also, AmA is working on several sultry downtempo tracks, in the likes of Massive Attack, with Cato a.k.a Eccotonic for one of his upcoming releases t.b.a. sometime in 2014.
