The Carry On Band

Issac Avila and Pete Sarenana, life-long friends, had dreamed of starting a rock band together.  Only a few weeks into their newly unnamed band’s inception, Pete’s cousin Ray Carrion was killed in a tragic motorcycle accident.  Issac suggested they name the band The Carry-On Band in memory of Pete’s cousin.  The band worked steadily and built up a solid following until the untimely passing of Issac on August 30, 2009, just one year after Ray Carrion’s death.
Two weeks later, surviving members were joined on stage by Rudy Esquivel of GNR Entertainment, the bands WAR, El Chicano, Tierra, and Brenton Wood. Roy Z, also sat in for the band’s first performance without Isaac.  Encouraged by fans and supporters in the music industry, the Carry-On Band have continued to perform and are now joined on vocals and guitar by the legendary Latin rocker, Jerry Salas, lead singer of El Chicano, along with Adam Ponce on drums, Rick Cruz on Bass, and Mark Perdeaux on vocals.
Today the Carry-On Band covers a little of everything from the classic rock genre, and with the inclusion of Jerry Salas on vocals, also include a sampling of El Chicano favorites in their set list.
The Carry-On Band played to a crowd of 20,000 on the Fourth of July, and this past year were joined on stage by Gene Simmons and three-fourths of KISS, along with Bobby Kimmel of Toto for a Rock for Vets concert and a segment of Gene Simmons Family Jewels.
