The Aves

The Aves 1 Photo

The Aves are Australian. They come from a little city in the south called Adelaide. They call themselves Lucy (vocals, guitar), Thomas (guitar), Tasman (bass) and Clair (drums). Four young, endearingly strange individuals who have found themselves relocating to London during a cold 2010 winter, playing prolifically throughout the year, touring to Melbourne and Sydney and now, an invitation to Canada’s NXNE Festival in June, 2012, followed by performances in Ottawa, Montreal and New York. Always a band to cheerfully cut their own path, The Aves have been running away with the circus for the past two years and finding themselves on a great big adventure.

With radio accolades (including rotation on Triple J), fans across the globe, a highly acclaimed series of showcases at NXNE and a steady stream of friendly ambition, The Aves are slowly proving that slightly odd freaks from Adelaide really can take the world over.

‘Panic’

‘Panic,’ the debut EP from Adelaide’s The Aves gives overdue praise to the power chord. With swagger to burn and laced with irreverence, ‘Panic’ is whip-smart and charming…but not a jerk about it. With classic pop influence at its core and garage flourishes at its borders, ‘Panic’ was produced by Lindsay Gravina at Birdland Studios in Melbourne. Driven by choppy riffs and urgency, ‘Panic’ is awash with a raft of unexpected surprises in its mere four tracks.
